Give Parents A Break Program
The "Give Parents A Break" Program is offered once a month to Active Duty families. This program is intended to assist parents under stress, due to the many transitions military families face.
To participate in this program, a referral form, 1181 emergency contact sheet and current immunization record must be on file with the facility. Patrons can request a referral from a Squadron Commander, First Sergeant, Chaplain, Medical Professional, the Family Support Center, or the Child Development Center. Click here for additional information and the current dates available for Give Parents A Break Program.

Baby Signs Program
The Child Development Center Training Specialist, Ms. Tina Luderman attended training for a DOD Pilot Program to incorporate the Baby Signs Program into Vandenberg’s Child Development Center. Staff have been trained and are now incorporating the Baby Signs Program into their classroom curriculum. Ms. Luderman is a Master Trainer that can go to any DOD installation and train Child Development Center’s staff and parents. Experts in the field of Child Development say that using sign language with children helps in their speech development. The CDC is excited to incorporate a program for caregivers to communicate with children and will be offering future classes for parents to attend. For more information on this wonderful program, contact the Child Development Center at 606-1671
